- As part of the healthy living campaign, The Friends of the Library is coordinating the production of a Kearny Farmer’s Market Cookbook, available for purchase in late spring 2011. Kearny residents are invited to send their original recipes for consideration to Friends of the Library, 757 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ 07032 by August 15th 2010. Recipes should contain at least 50 to 75 percent fresh produce ingredients. Select residents will be invited to the library kitchen to prepare their dishes for a panel of judges. There will be ribbons awarded with special recognition in the cookbook and prizes awarded to 5 winning recipes. There is no limit to the number of recipes submitted.
