In honor of the 84th Academy Awards, which will be televised on Sunday, February 26, the Kearny Public Library would like to invite everyone to come see the nominees. For two weeks in February, we will show 4 nominated films. All films will be shown downstairs at the Main Library, located at 318 Kearny Ave. in Kearny, New Jersey. Start times for each are listed below. Popcorn & light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome, but please note the rating for each film. The schedule is as follows:

There is no registration/signup needed. Books will be provided by the library but the library cannot reimburse for Kindle/Nook or individual purchases. Participants may attend one or both of the meetings, or attend the movie without participating in the book discussions/reading. The movie showing will begin at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. Need help with your resume or online job application? Kearny Public Library can help! Starting in December, we will be setting up one-on-one ½ hour sessions with our professional librarians for help with:
- Putting together your resume
- Typing your resume
- Applying for a job online
The sessions will be held downstairs in our basement laptop computer lab at the Main library building, located at 318 Kearny Avenue. If interested, please give us a call at (201) 998-2666 and let us know a little about your situation so we can sign you up. For Kearny residents only.
Museum Passes
The Kearny Public Library now has passes for the following museums:

The Montclair Art Museum * New*
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (located in Amherst, MA.) * New*Kearny residents, who have library cards in good standing, can check out a pass for free visits to the Museums and return the pass the following day. There is no charge to reserve the pass; however, a $40.00 cash deposit is required for most museums when the pass is borrowed. The deposit is refunded when the pass is returned on time.

Drop In and Craft
Drop in and join the Craft Circle on Wednesdays, 6 P.M. (except for the 2nd Wednesday of the month - Book Club Wednesday) at the Main Library at 318 Kearny Avenue. For Ages 15 and Up. Please bring your own supplies.
Book Discussion Group
Love to read? Love to talk about good books?
The book discussion group will be meeting on every 2nd Wednesday of the month except July and August at the Main Library at 6:30 p.m. For more information, or to join the group, call the library at 201-998-2666.

Kearny Public Library has formed a partnership with SCORE* with you in mind!
SCORE volunteers offer free counseling on:
- financing a new business
- setting up a business plan
- marketing and advertising a new business
- record keeping and tax obligations
- legal requirements for a new business
